Country Artist Marlee Scott Hosts, Performs at Prestigious Horse Racing Events

BigRide Entertainment artist and former equestrian rider Marlee Scott made a pair of special guest appearances over the past week in conjunction with two of the country’s most prominent horse racing.

(Nashville, Tenn. – Nov. 11, 2011) BigRide Entertainment artist and former equestrian rider Marlee Scott made a pair of special guest appearances over the past week in conjunction with two of the country’s most prominent horse racing events. On Saturday, Nov. 5, Scott sang the national anthem during the Opening Ceremonies at the 2011 Breeders Cup World Championships at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. Members of the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachuted to the ground during her performance.
On Monday, Nov. 7, Scott served as an honorary host at the Kentucky Derby Prelude Party, held at downtown Nashville event space aVenue. Scott performed an a capella version of “My Old Kentucky Home” as part of the evening’s festivities, which helped raised money for the Blessings In A Backpack program. Celebrities on hand included Rob Bironas, Laura Bell Bundy, Eddie George, Steve Holy, Danielle Peck and numerous other artists, musicians, athletes and music industry professionals.
The Canadian-born singer and current Nashville resident became an accomplished equestrian rider as a teenager in Ontario. Scott retired from competitive riding to pursue her Country music career full-time in 2007.

Country artist Marlee Scott will release her full-length U.S. debut in early 2012 through BigRide Records. A native of Ontario, Canada, Scott moved to Nashville in 2007 to pursue her Country music career, releasing a debut single, “Beautiful Maybe,” in 2011. In addition to a national radio tour, Scott performed at several high-profile professional sporting events over the summer, including games for the Nashville Predators, Chicago White Sox, Oakland A’s, New York Yankees and the Cincinnati Reds. Her 2010 single, “Here to Heaven,” was an international success, going Top 20 in Canada and Australia and hitting No. 1 in England, Germany and Holland.
