A course and workshop for writers interested in writing and selling books will be held on Wednesdays, June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and July 6, 2011 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. "No Excuses! Writing and Selling Your Book" is offered through the Office of Community Education and Professional Education. Course fee is $99, which includes a coursebook. Instructor Pauline Bartel will discuss the step-by-step process of transforming an idea into a published book, including creating a book proposal, finding agents and publishers and guiding a book to publishing success. Class time will be devoted to reading and evaluating works in progress in a supportive workshop environment.
An award-winning writer, Bartel is the author of seven published books, including The Complete GONE WITH THE WIND Trivia Book and Spellcasters: Witches & Witchcraft in History, Folklore and Popular Culture.
