Craftmatic Adjustable Beds Review of Buying Process and Delivery

Recently we used this website to buy a Craftmatic Adjustable Bed for my parents. The website intrigued our interest by the content on what we were looking for in an adjustable bed. Video on the site was very good. We called the 800 number on the site, the company was very responsive both by email and telephone call back. Our buying process took a few days for us to digest the information we received both by the site and the salesman following up with us. We did compare Craftmatic to 2 or 3 other competitive brands and we found Craftmatic had both the quality and the price we were willing to pay.

Ordered the Craftmatic Adjustable Bed 10 days prior to Thanksgiving, with a quoted delivery date of before Thanksgiving.

Delivery did not meet the promised date, and it took quite a lot of time to get the bed delivered. Customer Support by phone was on the spot but, the company failed to deliver on time. This was important to us because the Craftmatic Bed was primarily for my father who was having mobility issues.

The Craftmatic Adjustable Bed comes with "white glove" delivery and installation service. Finally when the bed arrived, Craftmatic sub-contracted installation personnel met the delivery but, could not figure out how to assemble and deliver the bed. They were at our home for 4 hours in the evening until they finally gave up and asked it they could return the following day. They never returned!

So left with an un-assembled bed, we had no choice but to call Craftmatic Customer Service and demand a direct representative to visit our home to get the installation and delivery complete. We also put a hold on our Visa payment until issues could be resolved.

Craftmatic Customer Support handled our problem with understanding and did all they could to get things right. However the resolution was not with any sense of urgency.

Due to their failure of "white glove" delivery and installation, Craftmatic made things right. However, the process put unnecessary stress on my elderly parents for a few weeks.

Craftmatic had made a referral to us about bed rails, from an outside vendor, since they do not provide rails for their beds. We purchased from their suggested supplier SEG Sales and Service - 7911 Woodstone Ln. Dallas, Texas 75248 - (800) 417-6309. We were assured that the rails would fit the Craftmatic Adjustable Bed with no hassles. This was not the case, the rails did not fit. We called SEG Sales and Service for a price adjustment for poor sales representation, they never called back. My recommendation is to NOT BUY from SEG Sales and Service! Shannon Griffin is the owner SEG Sales and Service, whom I dealt with direct when purchasing the rails however, when I called, texted, and emailed her after the sale when the rails did not fit, Shannon never called back!

I personally was in my parent´s home to assist them with this transition, wanting to have it completed by my return to South America December 8th, 2010... Things did not get totally resolved until weeks later. I had to be the go between between my parents and Craftmatic by email and phone from South America.

By 2011 January things were well. My father enjoyed the bed very much for a few weeks, he passed January 22nd.

In summary, Craftmatic Adjustable Beds are a quality product with responsive customer service staff. In our purchase the break down was in product delivery (late) and the failure of "white glove" installation in a timely manner. I was very displeased, as were my parents, with a subcontracted company showing up at the residence with no idea of assembling the Craftmatic Adjustable Bed. This delayed my father´s comfort and put unnecessary stress on both my mother and my father.

Would we buy Craftmatic again? Yes, we would because the company stood behind their product policies and guarantees. Craftmatic Adjustable Beds are a quality product.

At the end of this process, now my mother is quite comfortable with the Craftmatic Adjustable Bed. I am sure she will get the benefits for years to come.
