It's Oscar time, which means Charles Jay springs into action again.
Jay, who supplies odds for just about every major event one can think of in the sports and entertainment world, not to mention politics, world affairs and pop culture, comes strong with plenty of odds and propositions on Sunday's Academy Awards, as part of his fantasy sportsbook site, BetCharlesJay.com (http://www.betcharlesjay.com).

http://www.betcharlesjay.com Among the special on this year's list is the "Not Just Close But Incredibly Close" prop, where a price of 12,5000-to-1 will be paid if both Glenn Close (Best Actress - "Albert Nobbs") and "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" (Best Picture) win Oscars. Then there's the "Don't Speak" prop, with odds of 600-to-1 that three of the four acting Oscars will be won by performers who did not have any dialogue in their roles - Berenice Bejo and Jean Dujardin of "The Artist" and Max Von Sydow of "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close."
There are two dozen special props available, and they do indeed stretch the imagination.
Try the "As Seen on TV" prop, where Jay groups four actors who are now or have recently been stars of TV series and are now up for an Oscar. Close, who stars in "Damages" on the Audience Network, is in the prop; so is Nick Nolte, in HBO's "Luck" and nominated for Supporting Actor in "Warrior," Melissa McCarthy of "Mike and Molly" fame (who is a Supporting Actress nominee in "Bridesmaids") and Demian Bichir ("A Better Life") who had a scary turn on Showtime's "Weeds." If they all win, it pays 62,500-to-1.
A much tighter price can be found on the "Martial-Artist" prop, which will pay off at 4-to-1 (+400) if Martial Corneville wins the Best Makeup Oscar for last year's Harry Potter movie and "The Artist" brings home Best Picture.
Don't forget that there are also odds in every single category to be awarded on Oscar night. One of the closest contests, as Jay sees it, is the Best Actor race,, where Dujardin is the favorite at -120, while George Clooney, who starred in "The Descendants," is even money. "The Artist," a unique black-and-white silent film, is the prohibitive favorite to win Best Picture, at +1500 (15/1). Meryl Streep, who played Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady," is a very slim favorite over Viola Davis of "The Help" to win Best Actress.
