(Free-Press-Release.com) April 21, 2010 --The Printing House Ltd of Crewe, Cheshire recently completed trials of a new printing plate to the UK, the Aeon plate from distributor Presstek. The Plate was launched in the US previously but The Printing House have worked hand in hand with Presstek to launch the printing plate into the UK marketplace.

Technically the Aeon plate leaves its competitors standing, there is no pre-heating required and run lengths are up to 200,000 sheets. Dot reproduction is held from 1% to 99% at 200lpi, with excellent on press performance. Perhaps the biggest advantage is the stability of chemistry, with 6 weeks between processor chemistry changes. This is a very different story to the now aging Kodak Electra Excel product formerly used by The Printing House.

Peter Harrison, Joint MD of The Printing House is particularly pleased, "when we used the kodak plates we were changing the chemistry in our processor every 2 weeks, no we're up to six weeks. Presstek are so sure of this that they have given us fixed price chemistry. It's important to us as a company to lead the way in technology in the UK, from mid January this year we have implemented a new web-to-print set up, put in place a new wide format print department and replaced our digital press with the latest from Xerox".
