Critical Thinking During Critical Times

Cape Cod, Massachusetts, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) October 15, 2011 -- How many times have you walked into a store to buy a pair of shoes, a clothing item or something else of importance only to get home and see “Made in China” or “Made in Indonesia” inscribed somewhere on the label?

Although most Americans never give second thought to such diminutive details, there is a far greater story behind it. A story that does not need to be long and drawn out when discussing, but merely highlighted and used as fuel for fire. Now, while seeing such a label on any product we really desire it is often not enough for most Americans to avoid purchasing the item. However, it should be enough to at least make us think about how your purchasing that particular item has contributed, in one way or another, in preventing American dollars from being redistributed within the American system to solely support an American business. While I believe in the ability to buy products from another country, I also think it is imperative for American-made products to be equally sold and distributed in the global marketplace. Thus, international trade continues to be an EXTREMELY hot (yet bureaucratically overlooked) topic as it relates to the U.S. economy because it is one of the fastest and most assured ways to get America out of the ongoing economic dilemma. Unfortunately, there is more to the situation than meets the eye.
