Cure for Baldness 10 Years Away!

January 16, 2011

After studying the inner workings of the human scalp, researchers have found that the answer to baldness may have been right in front of them all along.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 16, 2011 -- Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom – Hair loss and baldness is something many men have been trying to fight for years. Going bald is often thought to be the first sign of aging and loss of libido, two things most men do not want to be associated with. So because of the great demand to prevent these problems, scientists and researchers have been studying hair loss for years. Now, a new study is making millions of men hopeful that science has finally found a cure.(http://www.hair-lossvitamins.com)

The study is headed by Dr. George Cotsarelis of the University of Pennsylvania. During their study, the scientists discovered that balding men have the same number of stem cells in their scalp as men with full heads of hair. This was a breakthrough discovery because it had always been assumed that balding men would have less stem cells, hence the hair loss.
Now that the scientists have realized that their assumptions were wrong, they are eagerly trying to find a way to re-activate these stem cells. The goal is for the stem cells to be able to produce secondary stem cells, which will be able to produce hair. This could very well be the cure for baldness every man has been looking for! Even more exciting is that the research team predicts that they should be able to develop this treatment within the next decade.

Despite the good news, some men are wary. Those anticipating hair loss are already wondering how much stem cell treatment for balding will be. With hair plugs, which are currently considered to be the most surefire way to fight hair loss, being so costly already, men wonder if the cost for once again having a full head of hair is worth it. Not to mention the fact that these days some men are starting to embrace baldness. With icons like Bruce Willis and Vin Diesel sporting the bald look, men are becoming more confident that bald doesn't always equal bad.
Men are not the only people afraid of hair loss. Many women also suffer from different forms of alopecia, especially the types related to vitamin deficiency and hormone fluctuation. Combining these women with the male population that spends up to $3.5 billion each year in attempts to cover up or hide their hair loss or baldness, research studies like these give them hope that within a few short years there may be a sure fire way to cure hair loss and prevent baldness from occurring at all.
