Customer Magnetism Encourages Virginia Beach Shamrock Marathon Race Participants

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 18, 2010 -- Virginia Beach, VA – March 18, 2010 - Customer Magnetism, a Virginia Beach marketing company, will sponsor a support station during the 38th Annual Yuengling Shamrock Marathon event on Sunday, March 21st. Several Customer Magnetism employees will be on hand at 53rd Street and Atlantic Avenue near mile marker 14 from 8 a.m. until the races conclude that afternoon.

“We want to support the runners and give them encouragement. It’s giving back to the community,” said Jeremy Sherman, vice president of Customer Magnetism. “It’s something fun to do and it helps break the monotony of the race for the runners.”

Positioned on the east side of the full marathon and half marathon courses, the search engine optimization (SEO) firm’s support station will feature games, music and enthusiasm as runners pass by on their way to the finish line.

“This is our second time doing this,” said Aaron Leslie, president of Customer Magnetism. “A lot of runners thanked us for the support last year, so we decided to do it again.”

The weekend-long Yuengling Shamrock Marathon event begins on Friday, March 19th with registration and a Sports Expo at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Saturday, March 20th will feature the 8k Middle School Challenge and Operation Smile Final Mile Start. The Half Marathon Run/Half Marathon Walk begins at 7 a.m. on Sunday, followed by the Marathon Run/Marathon Walk at 8 a.m. Race organizers expect approximately 23,000 runners to participate this weekend.

Several charities will benefit from the three-day event, including the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, Operation Smile, the American Cancer Society, The Joy Fund, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training Program and the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office Community Fund.

Recognized by Runner’s World as an Official Green Race, it will feature TFC Recycling containers at the start-finish line and near the 53rd Street support station. Virginia Green is also an event sponsor.
