Cybertech Adds Americana Poker to its Online Poker Suite

A New Addition to Cybertech’s Repertoire

This addition to Cybertech’s online poker portfolio follows quickly on the heels of a major development: that of Russian gaming software developer Connective Games merging with Cybertech to form a regional behemoth. Coupled with the fact that Americana poker was one of Connective Games’ offerings, Americana poker being adopted by Cybertech is very likely a development arising out of knowledge sharing among the two merging business entities.
About Americana Poker
Americana is an improvised version of 5-card stud using a 32 card stripped deck, with all the low cards under six removed. This truncation of the deck not only makes for interesting play but also makes for different hand rankings as compared to traditional poker games.

Traditionally a fixed limit game, Americana in its online poker avatar is played with a pot limit betting structure. Whether playing live or in an online poker room, Americana is played shorthanded, as a maximum of six players can sit on an Americana table at a time. The game begins with each player posting a small ante, followed by all players receiving two hole cards each, one face-down and the other face-down. The player with the highest hand must make a bring-in bet and then action proceeds clockwise around the table. Players may call, raise or fold. After this initial round, three community cards are dealt, each one after a round of betting, the final card completing the hand. If on the final betting round two or more players are still in the running, a showdown ensues with the highest hand winning the pot.
Hand rankings are slightly different; an ace can be used as either a high or a low card, and a flush beats a full house. Also, when two players have the same hand, the tie is broken not on the basis of card ranks, but that of suits. The order of ranking of suits, highest to lowest, is as follows: hearts, diamonds, clubs, spades.

Apart from the universally popular varieties of online poker games such as Holdem, Omaha and various kinds of Stud poker, Cybertech’s poker software portfolio also includes slightly more exotic poker games such as Badugi and Telesina.
