Czech Republic's thermal capacities will increase in 2013 with the commissioning of a 660 MW supercritical unit and a 840 MW CCGT. Solar capcity incersed significantly in 2010 and are now around 2000 MW (up from 460 MW in 2009). These actions are occurring as Europe is facing the consequences of the economic and financial crisis. Consumptions shrank by 5% and primary production faced a noticeable drop as well. The trade deficit was reduced by 8%, respectively due to substantial cuts in energy imports.
