Da Lat flower festival to open in December 2011

(Free-Press-Release.com) September 13, 2011 -- Da Lat Flower Festival will take place in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong from December 30, 2011 to January 3, 2012. According to the Lam Dong provincial People’s Committee, the highlights of the festival are street flower parade under the theme “flower and light” and the show “flower space” at the Da Lat golf course, which covers an area of 2 hectares.

The opening ceremony of the biannual festival will be held on the night of December 31, 2011. the flower festival is going to be held at Dat Lat city with the theme “Da Lat, the city of flower festival”. The flower festival 2012 is anticipated that there have nine major programs such as the space of flowers, international flower exhibitions, opening ceremony, flower market-day, flowers fair, "flowers and light" festival on the street; scientific conference on the flower festival and so on. Mr. Nguyen Vu Hoang - General director of Da Lat Flower Festival 2012, said the emphasis of this flowers festival will be focused on two programs including "flowers and light" festival on the street. "Flowers and light" festival on the street takes place around the Hoa Binh area (Da Lat) on the area of 3.500m2 with the forms of street festivals combining three elements: light, street of art, and flower decoration. In the "space beautiful flowers", it will be invested basically in Dalat golf area (side of Xuan Huong lake) on an area of 2 ha.

According to Da Lat Flower Association, this position is a new and impressive space compared to the period flower festival and could serve New Year 2012. There have Dalat Flower Hill memorial, miniatures flowers place and typical architecture of five continents, the largest tulip exhibition ever, Da Lat flower exhibition with international quality.

According to Mr. Nguyen Vu Hoang, apart from the main program, it is expected to also have nine programs responded, all will be more novelty than before and are held at various locations in Da Lat City and Lac Duong Dist., . In the Langbiang festival program at Lac Duong, there have not only a climbing competition to conquer the Labiang but also have a combination of gongs festival and cuisine of South Highland.

A series of cultural and arts activities will also be held as part of the festival to encourage participants to join in. They include a flower road at the Palace Hotel and tours of flower villages, fields, valleys, hills and villas, a trade village fair, a gala night of street dances and flower balloon performances.

The event is expected to attract around 300,000 visitors.
