Dagang Net won Merit at MSC Malaysia APICTA 2009 Awards
Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s first and largest leading e-commerce service provider, has won the Merit Award for its Electronic Preferential Certificate of Origin (“ePCO”) application.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 22, 2010 --
ePCO is a Web-based Certificate of Origin application and approval system. It is an online document that certifies the country of origin of a particular product, and intended solely to prove the origin of goods in order to satisfy customs or trade requirements.
In addition, ePCO offers a cost-effective and efficient platform for submission of applications and approval process. The automated pre-processing of applications speeds up the entire process as well as reduces the margin for error. The immediate electronic transmission of Certificate of Origin enables exporters to reduce the turnaround time for their goods.
ePCO is also one of the services of the National Single Window for trade facilitation where Dagang Net has been recently appointed by the Malaysian Government as the service provider responsible for developing, managing and operating the National Single Window.
Main functions offered by ePCO are:
Online application of Cost Analysis (“CA”) and Certificate of Origin (“COO”);
Online approval by authorising agent namely Ministry of International Trade and Industry
Online enquiry of application status.
“This award is certainly a wonderful recognition for us at Dagang Net on our ePCO system,” said Datuk Dr Syed Muhamad bin Syed Abdul Kadir, who is Chairman of Dagang Net.
He said as a pioneer in e-commerce specialising in trade facilitation, Dagang Net has undertaken efforts to build new innovations for the betterment of the logistics and trade industries.
“I hope that this award will further motivate our team to continue our efforts towards this end,” he added.
The merit award was presented to Dagang Net by Tan Sri Halim Ali, Chairman of Multimedia Development Corporation at a ceremony held last night at the Putra World Trade Centre. At the event, Yang Berhormat Datuk Dr. Maximus Johnithy Ongkili, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation was the Guest of Honour
