Coffee imports into the Netherlands was around 200 million pounds beginning in 1916, dropping to zero during 1918, but rising again until a steady stream of 160, more or less, during 1920. During the five year period between 1916 and 1920, Holland imported 135,566,943 pounds of coffee, exported 66,567,702 pounds, and consumed 69,999,241 pounds. The First World War hindered Holland’s coffee exports, but it picked back up after. Holland’s coffee consumption per capita remained between 14 and 18 pounds between the years of 1907 and 1913. Holland was the 7th leading country in the per capita consumption of coffee in pounds.
