Dalene Allen Shares How the Mary Kay Foundation Gives Back

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 28, 2011 -- Dalene Allen, Halifax resident and Mary Kay Independent National Sales Director, maintains a blog dedicated to empowering and inspiring women locally and all over the world. Recently she has taken it upon herself to educate about the ways in which the Mary Kay Foundation gives back to society by helping those in need.

In 2010, the Mary Kay Foundation granted 150 domestic violence shelters $20,000 each for a total of $3 million. It also awarded 13 respected donors and medical scientists $100,000 each in cancer research grants – a total of $1.3 million.

The Foundation also contributed $300,000 to the National Network to End Domestic Violence with $200,000 earmarked to support the Amy’s Courage Fund, which provides assistance to victims of domestic violence and their children. It also donated $80,000 to the Arbor Day Foundation for Nature Explore Classrooms at five domestic violence shelters across the United States.

Plus, the Mary Kay Foundation raised $364,424 from donations at Seminar 2010 and more than $117,724 in the Dallas and Northeast annual MK5K.
