North Richland Hills, TX – July 16th, 2011: On July 16th at the NYTEX Sport Centre the Dallas Derby Devils, north Texas’ largest all female flat track roller derby league, will present their 4th bout of the season, welcoming New Orleans’s Big Easy Roller Girls. For those that are new to the fastest growing sport in the world, derby is a fast paced, high energy, contact sport on 8 wheels. The Dallas Derby Devils will host three exciting games of roller derby in one night. The Dallas’ own nationally ranked all-star travel team, the Army of Darkness will face off against the Big Easy Roller Girls showing the folks of Dallas how they roll. This night will also feature your favorite home town teams, the Slaughterers, Suicide Shifters, Death Row Rumblers and High Seas Hotties. Come join the lovely ladies of Flat Track Roller Derby at NYTEX, doors open at 5:30pm!

Home after an exciting trip to Philadelphia for the East Coast Derby Extravaganza the Army of Darkness is ready to take on the Big Easy Roller Girls. After a 1 point win in their last bout the Slaughterers are looking to notch another W in their skates as they take on the Suicide Shifters. The Shifters, working with a lot of rookies, but nonetheless looking very impressive so far this year are looking to throw a wrench in the Slaughterers plans. Who will skate away victorious? The High Seas Hotties, 2010 undefeated champions, are looking for redemption as they take on the Death Row Rumblers. The Rumblers are having their moment in the yard, the guards have been looking the other way so far, will the Hotties sound the alarm and find redemption or will the orange clad convicts climb the Hottie's wall and be one step closer to Championship freedom?

The competition will take place at NYTEX Sports Centre (8851 Ice House Road, North Richland Hills). Doors open at 5:30pm and the action will start promptly at 6:00pm. The 2011 season opener hosted 1600 Dallas roller derby fans and has been sold out every game since! Get there early if you want a trackside seat but don’t forget to BYOC (bring your own chair) or enjoy the great views from the stadium style seats! . Look in This bout will sell-out, so get your tickets to this PG-13 event in advance for only $12 if purchased from your favorite derby girl at any preceding DDD public event, listed on www.derbydevils.com or $13 on their website through Pay-Pal. If available, tickets at the door will be $15. Kids 10 and under are free if you choose to bring them. Tips help offset the cost of travel and equipment as the Army of Darkness spreads the word of how Dallas does Derby.

When not at practice, the Devils continue the business of promoting and growing the league across North Texas. Clearly, DDD discovered a formula for success and are becoming stronger every season, heading into their seventh year of existence. The league is the largest of its kind in the North Texas area boasting the largest roster of active skaters, over 125 at last count. Volunteers are welcome. Security, production help, track maintenance, and merchandisers are a just few of the open positions. The league’s sponsorship drive remains underway to defray the league’s operating costs. Sponsors get bragging rights about being part of the derby revival at a ground level as they help the Dallas Derby Devils support worthy causes; a portion of all proceeds are donated to local charities.

Pink Hearts Funds is a non-profit organization that provides free wigs to children going through hair loss of any type whether it is chemotherapy, radiation, burns, etc. In order to provide a child with a wig it takes 10 ponytails or a donation of $250. This special charity will not only benefit by receiving a portion of the night’s ticket sales they also have a skater that is going to “Share her hair”. The DDD welcomes fans to also participate in donating their hair. A stylist will be on hand to assist in making sure it’s done professionally.
