This nifty device prohibits unauthorized access and provides security through encryption, allowing you to access your hard disk through leading biometric fingerprint and password technology.

The RANGER FP-II hard disk is divided into a public and private partition. To access the private partition, the user simply swipes their finger over the sensor and the drive unlocks. If the drive is stolen or misplaced, the user will not have to worry about their sensitive & private information being viewed by others. Without the fingerprint or password, the hard disk only displays the public partition when plugged into a computer.

When the hard disk is plugged in the first time, the user can register up to 10 fingerprints – either for themselves or for multiple users. A password is also registered for additional security. Once that is done, the drive is ready to be used.

In addition to the security features, the FP-II also features a full PCB board, which secures the SATA hard disk and makes it less prone to breakdown, a USB 2.0 interface and one touch backup. For those that want the best, the FP-II is available in 320GB and 500GB at SITEX 2009.
