David Fiebig announces Candidacy for Lake County Commissioner

David M. Fiebig, Willoughby Hills Councilman-at-Large, filed petitions today for the office of Lake County Commissioner. He will run for the open seat currently held by Ray Sines.

“We face serious challenges ahead for local governments. Ideally, our next commissioner will have a blend of public/private experience and a management background. The 20+ years of running my own business, plus a dozen years in management with another corporation, along with my years on City Council has prepared me well for the job.”

“My educational background, including a Masters degree in Management coupled with an Urban Studies Bachelors degree, is ideal for this office,” Fiebig said. “Willoughby Hills reflects the diversity of Lake County. I love Lake County and its terrific, hard-working people. I value cooperation, service, and fiscal responsibility in the public sector and I will work diligently to deliver that to the Commissioner’s office.”

Fiebig is Chair of the Planning & Zoning Committee of WH Council and a Member of the Finance and Safety Committees. He is a former member of the WH Board of Zoning Appeals and Independent Audit Commission. In the non-profit sector, he served as President of the Willoughby Eastlake Association for the Gifted and Talented, Treasurer & Board Member of the Cleveland State University Ambassadors, and President & Co-founder of Greater Cleveland Adult Baseball.

David M. Fiebig is married to Joyce Hribar Fiebig, a Willoughby Hills estate planning attorney. They have two children, Michael, 14, and Joseph, 11 who attend Willoughby Eastlake Schools.

David is the youngest of seven children born to a police officer and homemaker. Raised in the Cleveland North Collinwood neighborhood, his values of hard work, ethical behavior and the conservative principles of self-reliance and common sense were ingrained at an early age. As a small business owner, he invests in real estate and runs a property management company.

David is a member of St. Noel Parish, Willoughby Hills Lions Club, Willoughby Hills Historical Society, and the National Federation of Independent Business. He is a youth sports coach, community volunteer, precinct committeeman, and has been a senior center volunteer computer instructor, and charity classic car show organizer.
