New systems such as SecuraChild use networks of social media like Facebook and Twitter, send email blast and text messages whenever a child is reported missing throughout the site. There are other options too, such as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which allows you to add an alert amber “ticker” on their Web site or app on your phone.

According to NCMEC, social media has helped to resolve and recover 98.5% Amber Alerts since 2005. Amber 1,451 notifications from 2005 to 2009, 1 430 children were found.

Allen Lin body was found eight days later.
Securatrac, a company that creates different tools that uses GPS to track people, has launched its newest development, SecuraChild, last week.

SecuraChild is an AMBER Alert System fueled by social networks. When a child is missing, parents may, free of charge, enter the Web site to report missing children. The SecuraChild by subscription, Facebook or Twitter followers will be immediately informed of the missing child.
