David L. Ward DDS awarded Fellowship in American Academy of Implant Dentistry

Dr. David Ward, a general dentist in Big Spring, Texas has been awarded a Fellowship in the American Dental Implant Association, one of the premier associations for dentists who surgically place dental implants. Dental implants are used to mimic the roots of teeth that have been lost to allow their replacement. Approximately 10% of members of the American Dental Implant Association obtain Fellowship status. The requirements for Fellowship include at least 150 hours of coursework and passing both oral and written examinations. Dr. Ward has been studying primarily under Dr. Arun Garg, a world renowned dental implant researcher and educator based in Miami, Fl. Dr. Ward has been taking post-graduate courses and surgically placing dental implants for several years, and plans even more coursework in the future. Dental implants are surgically placed by general dentists, oral surgeons, periodontists, prosthodontists and endodontists. The crowns, bridges, partial dentures, and dentures that will attach to the implants can only be planned and constructed by general dentists and prosthodontists.
