David M. Bittle Has Won Various Awards as a Member of United States Coast Guard

David M. Bittle is a retired member of the United States Coast Guard. He served for more than 24 years and was promoted to the rank of chief. His experience lays in leadership and management with special focus in security and environmental safety/response areas. He was also awarded several times for his dedication towards his work and his exceptional leadership qualities. Through his decision making abilities and his foresight he helped United States Coast Guard in effectively coordinating multi-command watch assignments and sustaining steady state and surge safety and security operations in challenging and dynamic urban base operating environments. David M. Bittle was given the Coast Guard Commendation Medal for his services as Chief of Security at the Base Support Unit in Boston from June 2006 to September 2011.
He was also commended for his actions at various points of time during his career as an official in the United States Coast Guard. At all times, David M. Bittle showed presence of mind, courage and a deeply ingrained sense of duty that made him an example when it came to a sense of duty, discipline and dedication. He has saved lives in the course of his career and his efforts were duly noted and awarded by the Coast Guard. He also received The Secretary’s Outstanding Unit Award for outstanding performance in New York Harbor following the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center from September 11, 2001 through October 22, 2001.
