David M. Bittle Is the Recipient of Various Certifications and Awards

David M. Bittle has more than 24 years of leadership and management experience as a member of the United States Coast Guard. He retired as a chief petty officer in September 2011. He was promoted to the rank of chief due to his exemplary performance. He is a highly accomplished senior-level specialist with excellent flair of leadership skills. He is extensively experienced in supervising civilian, military and government agency personnel in emergency response, security and environmental disasters. David M. Bittle has special expertise in security and environmental safety/response areas including security operations, site security monitoring, hazardous materials management, regional response management and threat management.

Throughout these years, David M. Bittle has earned various certifications and licenses. He holds Massachusetts Class A Large Capacity License to Carry Firearms (no restrictions), U.S. Merchant Mariner’s 100 ton Captain’s License with Towing Endorsement and MA Class A Commercial Driver’s License. He has served as ordnance safety inspector for high explosive transfers. He is extensively trained in Hazardous Materials/Oil Spill incident response with a proven ability to assess situations, analyze multiple courses of action, and execute prudent decisions. Some of his awards include Coast Guard Commendation Medal (2), Coast Guard Achievement Medals (2), Coast Guard Meritorious Team Awards (4), National Defense Service Medals (2) and lots more.


David Bittle as chief of security at USCG, was responsible for supervising and management all elements of USCG security program. He has always worked with dedication and courage that made him an inspiration among his juniors and colleagues.
