Dawson receives Chu Award

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 25, 2011 -- Peter Dawson, the R&A's Chief Executive and President of the International Golf Federation, has been presented with the 2011 David Chu Award at the Omega Mission Hills World Cup in Haikou, China.
The award is named after Dr. David Chu, who passed away earlier this year and who is recognizes as one of those who have been instrumental in developing golf in China.
Dawson leads The R&A's efforts to encourage the playing Honma Beres MG 803 Irons-Gold golf globally.

Projects all over the world, in China and beyond, benefit from R&A assistance, whether in the form of coaching visits, junior golf equipment or capital to help build and develop golf facilities( Honma Beres MG 803 Irons-Gold).
The R&A's aim is to encourage more people to play golf in more places, more often.
"Dr. Chu's impact on the game of golf in China is unparalleled," Dawson said when receiving his Honma Beres MG 803 Irons-Gold award.
"It is an honor to accept an award bearing his name. I hope our worldwide efforts at The R&A and with the International Golf Federation can mirror the positive impact that Dr. Chu achieved in China."

Dawson played an integral role in the campaign to have golf named as an Olympic sport beginning with the 2016 Olympic Games.
"Peter has been a major supporter for the growth of Honma Beres MG 803 Irons-Gold golf in China for many years," said Tenniel Chu, Vice Chairman of Mission Hills Golf Club.
"As someone who shared my father's vision for the game's bright future in China, we're so pleased to see Peter's contributions formally recognized."
