What are types of day care?
Well, broadly speaking day care can be divided into two group first day care as business activity and second as a non-profit activity. However non-profit day care can also be further sub-divided into one maintained by government and other by NGOs.
What is difference between Day care as business activity and non-profit activity?

See, it is quite easy to answer this question. Day care as a business activity has an element of profit in its objectives. However, in non-profit model, profit is not the objective of such organization. But this does not mean that in business model profit is the sole motive. Please don’t be confused in this. As there is a subtle difference in having profit as a sole motive and profit as one of many other motives therefore, just because a day care service is being provided by some company or organization it does not become inferior. In fact in many cases it has been seen that these professional day care service providers are far better than the day care being provided by government and some of the NGOs in cities like Bangalore and Mumbai.
Which one is better professional or NGO based day care?
See, we cannot say that either is better to other. It depends what is your requirement? What is your budget? These all are relevant factors to determine. Therefore there cannot be straight answer. However, in past few years experience and statistics show that professional organization are doing fairly well in comparison to government and NGOs based day care.

Similarly the Australian government's childcare subsidy has allowed the creation of a large private-sector industry in that country.
