DEAD EARTH POLITICS ANNOUNCES MARCH 16 AS RELEASE DATE FOR 'THE WEIGHT OF POSEIDON


Progressive metal aficionados will be pleased to know that Dead Earth Politic's "The Weight of Poseidon" will be made available online and in select stores on Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Genuine Recordings, the Austin, Texas band's label, are working with IODA distribution and Burnside Distribution, for the world-wide release.

"This piece is something we are all incredibly proud of," says Ernie Clark, guitarist for the metal juggernaut. "Many of these songs are older than the band yet retain that 'true to metal' bite and the refreshing step back from the corporate metal scene." Dead Earth Politics began work on the CD in March of 2008 and were thrilled to enlist the help of Josh Woodhouse of Droplink Productions on the record's production. "I'm confident in saying that our sound is distinct within Heavy Metal America and this record absolutely shows the development of a signature for us, " says vocalist Ven Scott. "But we retained the raw aspects and Josh captured not only the D.I.Y. attitude and feel but many of the epic and grand aspects that we aimed for!"

"The Weight of Poseidon" CD Release party will be hosted by Tammy Moore of Metal Freaktress Productions on Friday, March 12 at Encore at 611 E. Red River in Austin, Texas. Special guests include Drifter, Killa Maul and Blackholicus
