Demetrios " Jim " Totonis & Charles McNeely announce they are running for Walden Fire Commissioners

CORNWALL-ON-HUDSON, New York, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) November 24, 2011 -- I am proud to announce that Charles McNeely and Demetrios "Jim" Totonis have decided to run for the 2 Fire Commissioner positions that will be open. Jim will be running for the 5 Year term and Charles will be running for the 2 Year term.

As members and officers of the Walden Fire Dept., they know how important it is for each of us to do our part to make Walden a great place to live and work. That’s why I am proud to announce that Charles McNeely and Demetrios "Jim" Totonis have decided to run for the 2 Fire Commissioner positions that will be open. Jim will be running for the 5 Year term and Charles will be running for the 2 Year term.

I am not sure if you are aware that any registered voter that resides within the Walden Fire District is eligible to vote in this public election. So on that note I am asking that you and your friends to support Charles and Jim. I know many of the voters don’t show up to vote for this election, but be rest assured it is an important one. The Board of Fire Commissioners (five members in total) can influence your;

• Tax Rate
• Level of Emergency Response
• Tax Dollar Spending
• Public Safety
• Fire Training and Education

I feel with the leadership experience that they both have over 40 years combined, WILL help to provide an imaginative approach to controlling expenses to ensure that we do not have any unessasery increases in our taxes.

They will also work with the Fire Dept. Chiefs and Officers to ensure that they are maintaining a high level of morale in the 100% volunteer department. That way they can ensure that they retain our current firefighters and recruit new firefighters to help keep the operating costs at a minimum by keeping our dept. 100% volunteer. Also with HIGH morale comes a HIGH level of service that you the voter expect.

They both reside here in Walden with our families, and want to ensure they continue to have it be a great and safe place to live. It takes all of us, working together, to make a difference. So once again I ask that You and Your friends support Jim Totonis and Charles McNeely, and of course if you do have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
