Dental Health Exhibit comes to Manchester’s SEE Science Center

(Free-Press-Release.com) April 11, 2011 -- Smile! The Tooth and Nothing but the Tooth is a new exhibit now open to the public at the SEE Science Center in Manchester, New Hampshire. The exhibit, running until September 4th, presents a unique journey into the world of teeth and dentistry in a fun and interactive way.

In the Smile! exhibit kids can learn in a hands on way about the science and history of dentistry and dental care. The exhibit also demonstrates the importance of healthy teeth in relation to a child’s overall health. With the support of the New Hampshire Dental Society (NHDS), the NHDS foundation, the Manchester Dental Society and many local Dental Society members, there is no additional entrance cost.

"The New Hampshire Dental Society and the Dental Society Foundation are very happy to support this traveling dental exhibit,” said Jim Williamson, the executive director of the NHDS. “It provides the children of New Hampshire a wonderful opportunity to learn more about dentistry and remind them how important it is to take good care of their oral health. This is an informative and interactive exhibit that certainly adds to the wonder of a visit to the SEE Science Center.”

According to Williamson, the New Hampshire Dental Society makes it a priority to support dental education and service programs. Since 2002, the NHDS has supported a Donated Dental Services (DDS) program to help the state’s disabled, elderly and medically at-risk citizens who have no other access to dental care. And, according to recent studies by PEW, New Hampshire ranks #4 in the country for providing children access to dental care.

The SEE Science Center is an interactive learning center established to promote the understanding, enjoyment and achievements of science, mathematics and technology. By applying creativity, determination and attention to science curricula, SEE has reached continual consumer satisfaction among children, parents and teachers.
