Derik Capetillo (International Free Agent) Stands Out at the Perfect Game Baseball National Championship

(Free-Press-Release.com) July 18, 2011 -- As a top international free agent prospect, 16 year old Derik Capetillo feels like he wants to show he is prepared to take the next step in his baseball career. On Saturday 7-15-11 he stepped on the mound against a local East Cobb baseball team and took total command.

Perfect Game scouts and fans watched as "Cappi" threw 52 pitches through 4 innings, 38 Strikes and 14 Balls. The posted comments by the PG scout was posted on Saturday as well stating:

RHP Derik Capetillo (2013, 6-0/210, Vene HS, FL) threw 4 innings of 1 hit shutout relief, striking out 7 hitters, to pace Top Notch to a 8-3 win over the East Cobb Dodgers Saturday. Capetillo had excellent pitching mechanics and a loose fast arm. He pitched in the 87-91 mph range with a live fastball to overmatch the Dodgers hitters, while showing a pretty advanced feel for an upper 70's change up. Capetillo also mixed in a couple of sliders as well.

Capetillo will remain in Atlanta this week and may be called upon to pitch once again for the Top Notch Baseball team as they look to advance in the event. Derik will also be attending the IBC/Game Ready World Series starting Sunday 7-23-11 in St. Petersburg Florida.
