Desmond's Tavern in New York City to host blues band Stately Ghosts on New Year's Eve

Manhattan, New York, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 28, 2010 -- Desmond's Tavern, one of New York City's oldest traditional Irish pubs, will host the young blues band Stately Ghosts on New Year's Eve, December 31st 2011. Other acts will be performing throughout the night with the Stately Ghosts beginning their set at midnight.

Desmond’s Tavern has been operating as a traditional New York Irish bar since 1936; it is the fourth oldest continuous operating bar in Manhattan. Its customers have been mainly New Yorkers working and living on Manhattan’s east side. Such notables as Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney, Shane McGowan, Kevin Costner and Forrest Tucker have been seen at the bar. Veronica Lake was a waitress at the pub in the 40’s.

Stately Ghosts have possessed New York City’s indie/garage scene with their paranormal blend of retro and modern sounds. British-born vocalist Abigail Carson learned to sing the blues the hard way, as street musician living off the gratuities she earned in Australia. Together along with several NYC veteran musicians, Stately Ghosts craft tunes influenced by the Chicago blues, 60's acid and garage rock.
