FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) October 8, 2010 -- If you have a problem with your iPod and are worried about the cost of an iPod repair, fear not! iPod Surgery specialise in quick iPod repairs and have the parts and expertise to get your iPod working again. To give you an idea of how best to proceed, they have created a handy guide to identifying some of the most common problems…

Battery

Does your iPod work absolutely fine when it's plugged into the mains but not when you unplug it? Or does it not last long after being unplugged? In many cases, such power problems are simply a result of the fact that you need a new battery. This type of iPod repair can be carried out extremely quickly regardless of the age or model of your machine, due to the straight forward nature of the task at hand.

Click Wheel
If you're having problems with your click wheel, whether it's not working at all or not working well, you may need to have it replaced. If the click wheel isn't functioning well this of course greatly impairs your ability to use and enjoy the iPod. Click Wheels do sometimes wear out due to the sheer volume of use – if you’re particularly lost without your music, it is possible to have your iPod Click Wheel repair carried out the same day with iPod Surgery’s Platinum service.

Dock Connector

There are a number of issues caused by problems with the connector parts in your iPod. If there is visible physical damage to the connector you may be able to identify this yourself. If not, knock on effects of a faulty or damaged connector can include problems problems with charging or syncing the device. If your iPod is exhibiting any of these symptoms, it can put a real crimp in your ability to use and enjoy the machine. If you want to share your music with friends at a party for example, having a dodgy dock connector will stop you in your tracks.

Front Casing
Whether your iPod's front casing is damaged or perhaps scratched in any way, you may want to consider having it replaced. It's not just for cosmetic purposes, as the casing keeps the inner workings of the device protected, so it's best to try and keep it in good condition.

Rear Casing

As with the front casing, your rear casing may be best replaced if it's looking a little the worse for wear. This is a procedure that is straightforward and can be carried out at excellent cost to you, keeping your iPod in good working condition into the future.

Full Housings
Give your iPod a new lease of life with a face lift. New casings are great value and can protect your iPod from damage in the days ahead, as well as making it look pretty of course.

Headphone Socket
Problems caused by a damaged headphone socket can include sound only coming through one ear piece, as well as intermittent or absent sound. In many cases these problems can be solved by replacing the headphone socket itself. An iPod isn't much use to you if you can't listen to music through it...

LCD or Touchscreen Replacement

There are many things that can go wrong with LCD screens. They are pretty resilient when you think about the things we expect them to withstand, being shoved in and out of pockets and bags all day. However, it is inevitable that LCD screens do become damaged sometimes. Many of us assume that the cost of having an iPod screen repair will be prohibitive, but this is not the case at all. If you choose your iPod model from the iPod Surgery page, an instant quote will be provided giving the total cost of screen repair before you even send it off to be fixed.

Liquid Damage
Liquid damage can cause a number of problems. If your iPod has been exposed to liquid your best option is to have iPod Surgery assess it and give you a quote. There may be a number of items that need repaired or replaced but, the good news is that it’s possible to have it back in full working order after its dunking.

iPod Not Powering Up or Connecting

If your iPod is not powering up even when you have it plugged into the mains, or cannot connect to your computer, there is a chance your main board may need replacing. The mainboard may also need looking at if the iPod is completely dead or emits no sound.

Hard Drive issues
A sad face or folder icon display on your iPod can mean a hard drive problem. This can also be indicated by clicking, whirring, an inability to restore or a tendency to skip tracks. If any of these issues are affecting your iPod, it will need to be repaired to restore it to its former glory.

Hold Switch
If the hold switch is not functioning your iPod's headphone/ hold switch assembly may need to be replaced. As with all of the problems listed, iPod Surgery can carry this out for you in no time.

Something Else?

Don't worry if your fault has not been listed. iPod Surgery can carry out a full diagnostic check for you and give a quote for the iPod repair with no commitment on your part.
