Diary of a Puneri Kid : Book release

Pune, Maharashtra, India, Republic of (Free-Press-Release.com) November 17, 2011 -- Pune, 17th November, 2011 - Tenderleaves.com, the online book library that provides library services to individuals, schools and corporate customers has published the 2011 edition of their unique book titled The Diary of a Puneri Kid.

Diary of a Puneri Kid is an anthology of fiction stories by young writers from Pune. More than 2000 students from 17 schools across Pune had participated in this story-writing competition held during October 2011. The top 20 stories in each category (three age groups of 5-8, 9-10 and 11-12 years) have been published in this book. The unique aspect of Diary of a Puneri Kid is that the submissions by the children have been scanned and are being printed in their own hand-writing instead of a type-written manuscript.
Prashant Karhade, of APK Publishers – the well-known Pune-based publisher of books like bestsellers like Cocktail and Go..Get It was the final judge who evaluated the entries.

B V Harish Kumar, the founder and CEO of Tender Leaves said, “We wanted to show everyone that children are still attracted to reading and writing, if given interesting and well-thought incentives. We believe every book is an idea that grows in your mind, like tender leaves. We just wanted to provide a channel to the ideas in the minds of these children. The idea of Diary of a Puneri Kid was meant to preserve the innocence and ingenuity of our young writers – so we decided against any editing of the submissions. Diary of a Puneri Kid is being released at Nehru Memorial Hall on Saturday, 19th November by Sidharth Agrawal, the city Director of Teach For India.
The book is being released during the Tender Leaves Annual Inter School Quiz. The quiz is being hosted by J Ramanand, the youngest BBC Mastermind India winner and one of the top quizzers in the country. The quiz will be a general quiz with a flavour of books and is open for teams of upto 2 students from Classes 5,6 and 7.
