FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 12, 2010 --
If you have decided to go on a diet in 2010 as part of your New years Resolution, don't slash your tires when you are having trouble.
A lot of people have trouble sticking to a diet.
I personally don't like to call them diets as it signifies deprivation and something negative. I feel that it is best to call then eating plans.
When people decide that they are going to lose weight, they usually go on a diet, which ends up being hard to follow and restrictive. Most often, they fail with in the first month.
Why? Diets are hard to follow. They are restrictive and deprive you.
What you eat becomes your eating plan. It should be easy to follow and become a habit. You eat foods that are good for you and nutritious. The foods support you. Eating them will make you lean, in time.
What does this have to do with flat tires?
Usually if someone is on a diet, eventually they will fall off. They won;t just fall off though, they really fall off, like the cliff.
They have a few chips or a slice of pizza and instead of getting back on their plan, they ruin everything and go all out. Fall off a little, fall off a lot they reason.
Not the best way to look at things.
When you get a flat tire, what do you do? You change it and get back on the road.
You don’t slash your other tires and give yourself four flat tires!
If you go off a bit on your diet or eating plan, just get right back on. Don't decide that since you had some junk food, you are done for the day with trying to eat the right foods.
You don't destroy your tires if you get one flat tire!
What will destroy your fat loss efforts, is you continually falling off you plan and not getting back on track.
That is how you gained the weight in the first place.
Nutrition is not hard. Most people make it out to be way harder than it really is. You already know what is good for you and what is not.
Make a sound nutrition plan, and stay with it. Don’t do anything crazy or extreme. When you slip a bit, and you will most likely, get over it and move onto the next meal.
Focus on getting better every meal. Aim for consistency not perfection. No one is perfect.
Aim to be 90% compliant with your eating. This allows you for a few slip ups depending on how many times a week you eat.
You did not gain your weigh overnight and it won't come off overnight. You have to be consistently good to achieve your fat loss goal. It won't happen in a week even of you are on a crazy fad diet.
Chances are a fad diet will fail you within the first week.
Remember, when you mess up on your diet, stop slashing your tires!
