Direct Marketing Excellence presents: Free Online Marketing Tactics

While Google Adwords may be considered the most effective form of online advertising, it certainly isn’t cheap, and competition for key words and phrases is fierce. Instead, try the following:

While Google Adwords may be considered the most effective form of online advertising, it certainly isn’t cheap, and competition for key words and phrases is fierce. If you don’t have the budget or the inclination to mix it up in the Google mosh pit, try one of the following three gangbuster online marketing techniques.

1. Write a press release. Go to www.free-press-release.com or www.prlog.com and submit your press release. It doesn’t have to be exciting, just so long as it announces something new and/or exciting about your business. Press releases differ from articles in that press releases state fact, whereas articles generally present a point of view or opinion.

2. Write an article! These are usually more fun to write because instead of reporting the news, as in a press release, you can make the news! Try to keep the article around 250 words, keeping in mind the attention span of most readers. And make the content matter! Don’t fill the internet with more useless crap – we don’t need it. Your goal should be to have the reader come away from your article better informed and grateful. Try www.goarticles.com, www.ezinearticles.com, and www.evancarmichael.com (although evancarmichael will not allow the use of web addresses in their articles, so write accordingly).

3. Make a video. This is the real bread and butter of free internet advertising. Get a cheap video camera (Sony makes the Webbie video camera that shoots HD and goes for under $170 – awesome!) and some editing software (spend no more than $50, if anything) and make a series of two-minute videos. Upload those bad boys to YouTube, enter some accurate and compelling key words in the blank space they provide, and boom… you’re off to the races.

All three of the above advertising methods are free and highly effective. In fact, if you commit to doing one of all three every day for ninety days, it is almost impossible not to drive at least 750 new leads to your site every month. At LEAST 750!
