United Kingdom of Great Britain & N. Ireland -- Free-Press-Release.com-- Mar 21, 2010 -- Eager readers may be delighted by the concept of the Night of the Books, which sees Madrid celebrate its love of all things literary.
Not only can guests at Madrid hotels head out to more than 200 bookshops until midnight on this special day, they can also take part in workshops and attend all sorts of performances.
Some of the bookshops participating include Akira Cómics on Avenida Betanzos, Muga on Avenida Pablo Neruda and Traficantes de sueños on Embajadores.
Taking place on April 23rd, it is the fourth time that the city's Culture, Sport and Tourism authority has organised the event, with the first signs of the occasion appearing at 15:00 (local time) and going on until 01:00 the next morning.
More than 400 writers, musicians and artists from Spain and across the globe will be participating in this year's festival, including famous names such as Manuel Vicent, Marta Rivera de la Cruz and Fernando Marías.
All of the activities that form part of the Night of the Books are free to enter and take part in, with some of the highlights being a talk being led by Argentine writer César Aira.
To add to all the literary fun, there will also be a ten per cent discount for purchases made on the day.
Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, commented: "Demand for Night of the Books is always significant and we recommend that anyone considering attending should book their hoteles en Madrid as early as possible."
