Discovr celebrates 1M downloads and $1.1M in funding with launch of Mac App Store version.

Available for $4.99 USD from the Mac App Store, Discovr Music makes it easy to discover new music on your Mac.

The app uses data visualization and music recommendations to provide a visual map of the world of music. Users can navigate through the musical ecosystem and discover new music based on what they like. The app is built from the ground up to make the most of OSX Lion, but also supports backwards compatibility to Snow Leopard.

As part of today’s launch, Filter Squad also announced that they have closed a $1.1M round led by Australian VC firm Yuuwa Capital. Filter Squad is on a roll, having also just won $25k at Australian startup competition Tech23 as the Australian startup with the greatest potential.
