Divas in the City (DITC) Celebrates Two-Year Anniversary and Model Search Winners

New York, New York, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) March 24, 2011 -- After a successful two year run and the launch of their model search in January, Divas in the City (DITC) “Paints the Town Pink” with their two year anniversary event this Friday, March 25, 2011 at The Hill, located at 416 Third Avenue, NYC from 6pm-10pm.

Along with the celebration of all the new developments taking place for DITC, such as their new chapter in Charlotte, NC and their plans for additional chapters across the United States that promotes female empowerment and social advancement for all ethnicities, Gabrielle Barnes, CEO and founder will also announce the winners of the “Face of DITC” Model Search. The model search kicked off in January 2011 and was open to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut female contestants, ages 18-45 who exemplified independence, confidence, business and social savviness. “This was not a model competition based on how beautiful you were physically, it was truly based on the applicants ability to communicate and represent themselves as a dignified woman who is successfully overcoming any and all hurdles to reach her personal and professional goals while setting an example for other women,” said Barnes.

Twelve semi-finalists are competing for the six winning spots to become the new faces of DITC and take home prizes from product sponsors such as Macy’s, Beyonce’s latest fragrances, Heat and Heat Rush, Swiss Chocolatier, Lindt & Sprungli, Fab Chick by Harlem Diamond, B’s Purses, FSL Cosmetics, Michelle Wild Photography, LifeTree Chiropractic & Aromatherapy and Dr. Debra Condren’s new book, “Ambition Is Not a Dirty Word: A Woman's Guide to Earning Her Worth and Achieving Her Dreams.”

In addition, the six winners will also become Brand Ambassadors for DITC; be featured on DITC advertisements and the website; receive free admission to all DITC events; discounted vending and advertisement opportunities for their products and services at events; and the opportunity to earn cash through the membership affiliate program. Though this is a free event and open to the public, DITC will also be taking suggested donations of $5 to raise money and awareness for V Day, a global activist movement to stop violence against women and girls. Light refreshments will be served, along with a cash bar and A Simple Touch of Elegance will also provide attendees with a delectable sweets buffet.
