As a fashion pursuer, you probably are attracted to the stylish appeal of sexy high heels shoes or just like the added height. Whatever the reason, you probably know the their definite disadvantage in comparison to flatter shoes, that is, the heel may come loose or even breaks off from the sole. This can happen most often when high heels shoes get caught in thick carpeting or on stairs, or when the wearer trips or walks hard on the side of the shoe. What? You have already unfortunately broken your sexy shoes? Don’t worry! You can learn how to fix them without taking them to a shoe repair shop if you read my informative article.
First of all, I think we’d better learn some basic knowledge about high heels shoes structure. All right, at my hand there is a pair just got from a famous high shoes wholesale website milanoo, let’s take it as an example (picture attached below). Now let’s begin. To repair a heel that is completely broken off from the shoe, you will need a tube of shoe glue and some additional shoe nails that should be sent along with your shoes when buying. If you try to replace the broken heel by merely nailing it back, you will find that the original nails will slide back out of their holes. Therefore, you should first cover the heel with shoe glue. Make sure you are following the manufacturer's instructions on the tube in order to achieve the best results. Then, carefully align the heel back onto the sole of the shoe and press it together; wipe off any excess glue. Finally, coat the original nails with glue, and then reinsert them into their respective holes. Use a tack hammer to tap a few more nails into the heel for additional reinforcement.
After that, wait patiently until the shoe glue to dry thoroughly. Then check the strength of your reparation by tugging on the heel. If it is still little bit loose, you can use some small - headed screws to add extra strength. Moreover, before your work is done, note that you pound additional nails into the mate of the high heel so as to make sure both shoes remain balanced. But if the heel that broke off is greatly damaged and cannot be reused, you will need to buy a replacement heel. Make sure that you replace it with the same size, same - shaped heel. Changing the size of the heel could be dangerous because you may change the balance of the shoe and easily fall flat…
Moreover, what if a heel has broken in two pieces? Never mind, we still have remedial measures as follows: You can use shoe glue to cement the two pieces together. After it has thoroughly dried, you can use a tack hammer to drive in some small shoe nails in due place to reinforce your repair.
Another common problem with high heels, especially narrow stiletto heels, is that the tips of the heels will tend to wear down after long time use. To deal with it, you can purchase a pair of heel tip replacements at local shoe repair shops.
