DJ East 137 returns with the much anticipated "Thoughts of Least Resistance". This one could very well be the 2011 summer Hip Hop anthem. The Hood Related Entertainment recording facility burned the midnight oil many nights making this recording a viable sonic competitor. HRE spared no expense with ensuring that samples kept their distance. All original well placed Hip Hop percussion and melodies merge to form a serious soapbox from which DJ East 137 describes being a disc jockey in the Boogie Down Bronx during some rather difficult social times. HRE is planning an aggressive radio campaign to influence public awareness. This is the fourth installment in what appears to be a chaptered autobiography in an effort to gain footing in the rap game. At any rate, the lyrical content cannot be denied.

There's no justice in calling "Thoughts" a Hip Hop recording, it is more like a diary set to a dramatic theatrical backdrop. Although DJ East 137's discography is a modest one, the impact is not. Listening through the debut single "Book of Rhymes", it is immediately apparent that DJ East 137 is not your ordinary rapper. The content and delivery are more like a captivating script that is difficult to tear away from." The second single "Emergency" appeared to hold court with America's youth in an attention grabbing session during which DJ East advised to take a step back and assess before moving forward. DJ East 137's "This Time" is as real as it gets. The song takes the listener through the events before, during, and after the passing of his beloved mother. Finally, "Thoughts of Least Resistance" is DJ East 137's attempt to upright his world post his mom's passing. Understandably, DJ East 137 attempts to ground himself by leaning on the one thing that has always stuck by his side throughout all the madness, the turntable. "Thoughts of Least Resistance" is a self pat on the back, although after a listen, there may not be a shortage of fans more than wiling to do the patting for him.

Every once in a while, serious Hip Hop rears its head in attempt to describe life in its actual form with minimal shades of meanings. DJ East 137 is the latest on the scene hoping to grab the attention of fans that have waited patiently for the Boogie Down poet.
