DLF PRAMERICA LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY INAUGURATES A BRANCH OFFICE IN AHMEDABAD

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, Republic of (Free-Press-Release.com) December 16, 2010 -- Ahmedabad – DLF Pramerica Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (DPLI), a joint venture between DLF Limited (DLF), a leading real estate development company in India, and Prudential International Insurance Holdings, Ltd. (PIIH), a fully-owned subsidiary of Prudential Financial, Inc. (PFI), a financial services leader headquartered in the U.S., today inaugurated a new branch office in Ahmedabad, the business hub of Gujarat.

Spread over 5,800 sq. ft., the Ahmedabad office is centrally located at 101, 1st Floor, Shivalik 10, Opp. SBI Zonal Office, Ambawadi, and is headed by Mr. Manoj Nair, AVP & Regional Manager for Ahmedabad . The office has 80 employees and 118 Life Associates already on board.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kapil Mehta, DPLI’s Managing Director and CEO said, “The opening of our new branch office in Ahmedabad is a very significant milestone for us. Not only does this extend our reach beyond Northern India where we currently have all our 27 offices, but it also establishes our presence in Gujarat, a region where we see immense potential for life insurance business and which we expect will be a key growth driver for us in the coming years”.

DPLI is expanding its presence in the country in a phased manner and its initial focus was on North India. It has now ventured into West India, starting with Gujarat.

“Rather than spreading ourselves thinly across the country, our expansion strategy is based on penetrating deep and strengthening our presence in one region before moving on to the next. This we believe is the only way we can address the life insurance needs of customers residing in Tier II and Tier III cities that continue to remain underserved. We already have an extensive branch network in North India in Delhi NCR, Haryana and Punjab. We now plan to strengthen our presence in Gujarat and will open offices in cities that offer viable business possibilities”, Mr. Mehta elaborated.
