Do not buy international calling cards to make local and long distance phone calls!
Calling cards to make international phone calls is a waste of Money! My experience has led me to VoIP service providers with unlimited free local, national and international calls

In my opinion calling cards are rubbish. You buy it with $10 prepaid credit and expecting the amount of minutes advertised, use it the first day for a few minutes, use it the next day and your credit suddenly is lower then when you last used it. Some calling cards ive purchased don’t even connect the call, you need to call so many times before it even connects and when it finally does connect the quality is horrible, when you call customer service they ask you to try again!
Now don’t get me wrong, there are some reliable cards but they give low minutes and they still eat up your credit.
Why do they do this??? Well lets look at a calling card provider business model.
1. Is the service provider
2. Is supplier
3. Distributor
4. Is the shop where you buy it from
Four companies have to make a profit before it gets into our hands! We buy it for $10 and each person in the chain must get a profit atleast $1.50 so there is not much money to buy the airtime!! That is why there are connection fees, daily service fees, disconnection fees, 2,3,4 or even 5 minute rounding!!
We are under the impression that we get for example 600 minutes to India but that is one continous call, who is going to stay 600 minutes on a phone call ?? Not many people!!
I would use a VoIP service provider to call long distance, make sure they have no plans to sign up to as most plans ive used have gotten hidden fees etc..
