Learn about Thermage (Non-Surgical Skin Tightening Procedure). What you need to know before your consultation. How to get the most benefits from your Thermage Procedure.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 7, 2011 -- By Nina Crytser, Certified Thermage Treatment Specialist. LMA in Charlotte, NC

As experienced Thermage providers, we strongly believe in a very selective approach when it comes to Thermage. It is a serious, professional treatment that may help you reach your skin care goals.

Like many other skin tightening devices on the market, Thermage provides non-invasive (non surgical) skin tightening. It is designed to heat deeper layers of skin, to provide a clinically-controlled inflammatory effect in the skin tissue. This inflammatory skin response will eventually result in skin tightening and improved elasticity. So here what you need to know:

1. One of the most important considerations when it comes to Thermage is determine if you are a good candidate. After a consultation, our experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Thomas Liszka and our trained staff, can recommend weather the Thermage procedure will benefit you (or surgery may be necessary to give you result you desire). Unfortunately, we have seen patients who are not good candidates for Thermage have the procedure done elsewhere and they did not receive good results since they were better surgical candidates. Non-invasive technology can only go so far…

2. Some people will see immediate results with tissue contraction and post-treatment swelling. However, your personal improvement in skin elasticity will take several months to build. The collagen regeneration takes some time.

3. You need to get off any long term anti-inflammatory medications, such as Aspirin or Advil, a few weeks before your Thermage procedure and only restart them a few weeks after, Consult your doctor if this suspension may be a health risk. We try to be careful not suppress needed inflammation and reduce results.

4. You need to ask your doctor how many pulses he will use. To create the desired effect, we need to build up enough heat in the area to be effective. A small number of pulses over a large area will provide minimal results. We always make sure that we advise people to use the right amount of pulses to get maximum benefits. That is why it is important to have a consultation with an experienced provider prior your treatment.

5. The amount of pulses also is important when it comes to the cost of Thermage. When you price around, always ask how many pulses will be used (Thermage tips usually consist of 600, 900, and 1200 pulses and there also different tips for the hands and eyes). Price will be based upon the amount of pulses to be used. Make sure that a cheap price quote will not compromise the effectiveness of your treatment. We can explain our charges exactly; some clinics will not

6. It is best to treat your skin when it is in its healthiest state. We see better results when patients use a combination of Retin A, Vitamin C and proper hydration. You are going to stimulate your skin regeneration and provide the necessary nutrition to build strong elasticity. Obagi Nu-Derm Skin Care System greatly complements Thermage.
