The new blockbuster movie "Dolphin Tale" featuring "Winter" the dolphin, of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, was a big hit at the movie theaters over the opening weekend. The movie finished in nearly a dead heat with another blockbuster movie "Moneyball" - featuring Brad Pitt. The top weekend grossing movie was the 3D release of "The Lion King", that came out the previous weekend.
This movie was made possible by the use of Clearwater's Enviro Technologies new pool water treatment . The unit allowed the aquarium to greatly reduce the amount of chemicals necessary to keep the aquarium clean. Any great use of chemicals would have greatly reduced the ability of the Dolphin to heal properly.
Over the years, Clearwater Enviro Technologies, Inc. has donated several systems of Mineral Pure to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium as its way of helping our environment. The specially designed copper ionization systems release controlled amounts of copper-ions into the water, purifying hundreds of thousands of gallons of saltwater at the faculty. There is also an ionization system on the otter tanks to kill larva formation.
Primarily, the new pool water treatment helps control and reduce algae growth significantly. This reduces the amount of chlorine required, saving the Clearwater Marine Aquarium a substantial amount of money in chemical expenses. This also creates a better environment for the mammals. Chlorine odors are eliminated. The number of hours needed to maintain an exhibit is reduced. There is no need for time consuming scrubbing of the exhibit wall to remove algae - normally a full-time job! The system is very user friendly to operate and requires very little time to maintain the system on a regular basis.
