“This is the Place for Prosperity” said Mike Farrell with aspenIbiz after attending the Glazer-Kennedy Insider’s Circle Colorado Chapter Meeting, sponsored by Mike Searls with Success Training Systems. The November edition of The Entrepreneur Experience was held Nov 17, 2011 at Noah’s Conference Center in Westminster, a northern suburb of the Denver, Colorado, metro area.
Farrell reported that this is an Invitation Only event for entrepreneurs, business owners, VPs, Presidents, and CEOs of successful and profitable businesses in a variety of industries ranging from B2B, B2C, retail, private practice, consulting, and manufacturing businesses.
The theme of this event, said Farrell, was How to Make the Rest of the Year the Best of the Year. Since 12% of the year occurs in the “silly season”, which is the time between the middle of November and the first of the year, Mike Searls, the session leader, presented 5 key strategies to ensure we don’t miss out on 12% of our earnings potential.
The 1st strategy identified who are the Easiest Groups to Sell to. These include: Current Customers; Referrals; Past Customers; Prospects; and the Unwashed Masses which are all the rest.
The 2nd strategy discussed using Groupon as a way to quickly conduct a marketing and selling campaign. As you may know, Groupon is the online “Daily Deal” like site. They went from nothing to offering over $6B of deals within about three years of starting because they created a site that was focused on creating irresistible offers for their customers. They did this by creating an irresistible offer in specific cities every single day. They target a local merchant and create an offer with that company; an offer that was so good people could not refuse it. Even though they started in Chicago, they have become a worldwide company. One very exciting thing about Groupon is to watch them craft irresistible offers every day. They are one of the best companies in the world to study in terms of observing which kind of offers are currently converting. Searls highlighted that the key to making a Groupon campaign effective, is to use Social Media such as Facebook, Twitter, Email Marketing, and Word of Mouth marketing based on using the Influence Engines, to drive traffic to your Groupon campaign. You will not make a lot from sales on Groupons, so the key part of this strategy is to capture customers, keep them, and then later up-sell to them.
In the 3rd strategy, a formula to calculate the Lifetime Value of Your Customer / Client / Patient was reviewed.
The 4th strategy contains these laws as a way to Sell More Stuff. These include: Create a strong Headline; Use Imagery such as pictures, graphics, short videos; Prepare compelling copy with Personality; Provide an Irresistible Offer; Ensure Scarcity by having a Deadline, ie Limit the Time the Offer is Available; and Provide Multiple ways to respond such as a QR Code, Optin Form, or a Coupon.
The key components of the 5th strategy covered the promotion. These include: identifying your Target Market; defining your Irresistible Offer; preparing your Headline; and selecting the Media you will use during your campaign.
Farrell summarized that in this New and Unpredictable Economy, in which a tougher and more demanding marketplace is emerging, customers have the power, ordinary products and services are not tolerated, money is spent with caution, sellers are scrutinized, and business success is earned not given. He said, “Be sure to not lose out on 12% of your earnings potential so you can survive and make money in this New and Unpredictable Economy.”
