(Free-Press-Release.com) March 4, 2011 --
World-renowned Cherokee Artist, Donald Vann, has just completed his latest painting, “Eagle Flight”. It is a tribute to all those who served in Vietnam, for whom he has great respect. Donald served in Vietnam from 1968-1973, he received a Purple Heart in 1969 for his injuries during combat and has a deep feeling of kinship with fellow veterans of all wars. Donald has honored veterans in his previous paintings including “Colors of Honor”, four feathers with beading on quills to represent the wars of Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and the Global War on Terrorism.
“Eagle Fight”, a 36”x24” watercolor museum wrap on canvas, refers to the first flight of the day, showing the helicopters coming in from their drop zone. In the fore ground of the painting is a door gunner with his gun at ready and in the clouds is a spirit warrior. As many may know, Donald, a door gunner, having first hand knowledge for the detail in this piece, uses his talent to honor all who have served. In 1990 he released “Offering of Peace”, which was also a scene of a door gunner. This piece was met with great enthusiasm and sold quickly, as did the prints. In fact, “Offering of Peace” was so popular, clients have wanted him to do something similar for quite a while.
Visit the website, www.donaldvann.com, for a better view of “Eagle Flight” and the numerous other veteran pieces Donald has done over the years. Donald will be in Arlington, Texas with his work March 25, 26, and 27, 2011 if you are in the area come by, meet Donald and see his art in person.
