DOUGLAS SUTTON JOINS FORTIS COLLEGE AS DEAN OF NURSING PROGRAMS

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 10, 2012 -- CUTLER BAY, Fla. – (January 10, 2012) – Fortis College, a healthcare career training provider, has announced the appointment of Douglas Sutton Ed.D., ARNP, ANP-C, ACNS-BC, CNE, as dean of nursing programs for the Cutler Bay campus. In this role, Sutton will oversee operations of the nursing programs, facilitate development of new programs and innovative curricula, and work with community clinical partners to expand campus relationships within the healthcare industry.

Sutton previously served as assistant professor at Florida Atlantic University Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing in Boca Raton, Fla. Concurrently, he served as educational consultant to Kaplan Educational Services in Boca Raton. Prior to that, he had an 11-year history in the hospital system, where he served in a variety of clinical and administrative positions.

Sutton received his Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts at the University of the State of New York in Albany and Master of Nursing from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He also received a Master of Public Administration from Troy State University and a Doctor of Education from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Sutton has published numerous articles in nursing research and clinical journals and has presented at international and national nursing conferences.
