Discovering covert and faulty intelligence causes a U.S. Army officer to go rogue as he hunts for Weapons of Mass Destruction in an unstable region.

Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller is posted to Iraq to justify the US invasion by finding weapons of mass destruction. With his search proving fruitless, he starts asking tricky questions, and soon even his own side are out to kill him.

Green Zone may have taken a while to get through production, but with Tony Blair's Oscar worthy performance at the Chilcot Inquiry, as to what we were doing in Iraq in the first place, Green Zone is Greengrass' most topical to date.

Matt Damon, always a favourite for Greengrass, stars as Miller, putting him in kind of a similar position to Jason Bourne. The camera-work is reminiscent of the other most recent Iraqi classic, the Hurt Locker, and the action is superb, uncompromised by the movie's political roots. After all, Green Zone is, first and foremost, an action blockbuster.

As I mentioned, this film is so visceral that it leaves you feeling abused…so it may not be everyone's cup of chai. However, a good thriller should shake and rattle…this, mixed with a strapping plot, makes for a strong, zesty cup of chai…thoroughly pleasing. Green Zone has been in cinemas from March 11 (2010), so get your buts down there before its theatrical run ends!! Did I say that this was visceral film making at its best?
