Prescott, AZ, December 14, 2009 -- It will come as no surprise to those who know Andrea Goeglein that, for the second time in one year, a Soroptimist International chapter has recognized her work and generous contribution to their organization. The Soroptimist International of Prescott, Arizona has awarded Dr. Goeglein the very first “Spirit of Soroptimist” award in recognition of her support and generosity of time and resources toward making Soroptimist International of Prescott's goals and objectives a reality. Specifically, Dr. Goeglein was integral to the success of their first L.E.A.D Professional Women’s Conference (Leadership Exchange And Development).
With a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology and a well known passion for Positive Psychology, Dr. Goeglein provides unique insights and exercises designed to guide executive development and maximize the success and happiness of all who cross her path – from senior level executives to the vast array of women that she mentors in the many communities around her. She is also often featured on AM Arizona as “Dr. Success,” and shares her passion for applied Positive Psychology and books on personal development.
In her down-to-earth, motivational style, Dr. Goeglein recently said, “As an expert in positive psychology, I know one thing for certain: my story, your story, and everyone’s story is written one word at a time, one sentence at a time, and thankfully it is always in a state of personal edit. How any story will unfold over time and end is truly within our individual control. We are not victims, we are powerful participants."
Dr. Goeglein has a long-standing relationship with Soroptimist International, a global organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women in local communities and throughout the world. The Prescott chapter joins almost 95,000 Soroptimists in over 120 countries by contributing time and financial support to community–based and international projects benefiting women and girls. True to its name, Soroptimist means "best for women," and that's definitely what the amazing women of the Prescott chapter strive to achieve.
If you are interested in joining a Soroptimist club or making a donation to support “the best for women,” you may visit Soroptomist International online at www.soroptimist.org.
