Dr. Gregory B. Fitzgerald Accepts Faculty Position at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine

Fitzgerald, MD, has been appointed to the faculty of Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Dr. Fitzgerald, a vision correction surgeon at Clavenna Vision Institute, will serve as Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Rochester campus.

Founded 50 years ago to serve the greater Detroit area, Oakland University enrolls approximately 18,000 students. Beaumont Hospital has 1,700 beds across three locations in Royal Oak, Grosse Pointe and Troy. Beaumont Hospital is already familiar to Dr. Fitzgerald, as he completed his ophthalmology internship and residency at the Royal Oak campus. He attended Michigan State University for his undergraduate education and Wayne State University, where he earned his Master’s degree in human anatomy and his medical degree.

Dr. Fitzgerald is the President elect on the executive board for the Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the Michigan State Medical Society and the Oakland County Medical Society. Voted one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America, Dr. Fitzgerald has served as a regional director and board member of the Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
