Dr. Stephen Scionti Joins Mass Bay Urology

Over the past 10 years Dr. Stephen Scionti has developed the largest and most experienced practice in prostate cancer treatment using minimally invasive thermal ablation technologies such as High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), Cryoablation and Prostate Laser Ablation . He is recognized globally for his groundbreaking experience and contributions in image-guided prostate cancer ablation . He is an authority in innovative diagnostics, specifically MRI-Guided prostate screening, Power Color Doppler, and molecular markers.

Having performed over 600 successful procedures, Dr. Scionti is one of world's most experienced HIFU surgeons. He has worked with leading medical treatment centers to help perfect HIFU technology, research medical applications, and train urologists on the HIFU prostate procedure. He is leading the effort to train U.S. urologists in this groundbreaking therapy and serves as Training Course Director for USHIFU.

Dr. Scionti is also a world renowned cryosurgeon, using a minimally invasive procedure involving extreme cold to destroy prostate cancer. He is a clinical leader, having done over 1,000 prostate cryosurgeries. Dr. Scionti also helps teach and proctor urologists on his techniques. Dr. Scionti’s academic experience includes Clinical Associate Professor of Urology, New York University School of Medicine, and Director of Prostate Cancer Ablative Surgery at the Joel E.
