FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 3, 2010 --
Dream Town Realty, one of Chicago's leaders in online real estate, will participate in a special open house tour of Margate Park this Sunday. The tour is a combination of listings from 18 different Chicago real estate firms throughout the city. Over 30 homes will be featured in the one-day event, which takes place between 12pm – 4pm on March 7th. The collaboration will provide buyers with an easy-to-see cross-section of Margate Park's current housing market.
Dream Town residential specialist Pamela Plotkin will be showing a listing at 924 W. Margate Terrace. The property is a 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath condo in a brick walk-up with a price of $399,900. It features an upgraded kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops/breakfast bar, hardwood floors, and a fully renovated en suite master bath. The 2,000 sq. ft. floor plan includes a combined kitchen/family room and a separate living/dining/sunroom. More details at www.dreamtown.com/properties/924-margate-2e.html
"Margate Park is one Chicago neighborhood that sort of flies under the radar," Ms. Plotkin said. "A lot of people don't know about it, but it has some absolutely gorgeous homes and an excellent location on the lake and close to Sheridan Road restaurants."
The goal of "Explore Margate Park: A Tour of Homes" is to show home buyers the diversity of real estate available in Margate Park and to encourage them to physically visit the neighborhood and see in person what it has to offer. Properties in the far North Side community range in price from under $100,000 to over $1 million and vary from studio units to single-family homes. The tour includes a good sample of housing options, starting as low as $59,000 and surpassing the million-dollar mark with a house listed at $1,595,000.
The neighborhood of Margate Park is approximately 6.5 miles north of downtown. Its boundaries are Sheridan Road to the west, Lawrence Avenue to the south, Foster Avenue to the north, and Lake Michigan to the east. Over half of the area is occupied by public parkland and recreational grounds. Foster Avenue Beach is on the northern brink of neighborhood limits and Lake Shore Drive is easily accessible for quick commutes to the Loop. Public transportation also connects Margate Park with the rest of the city.
"The unit at 924 W. Margate is located three blocks from the Red Line L Argyle stop and less than a block from the lakefront," said Ms. Plotkin. "I think anyone who comes to the Margate Park Home Tour this weekend is going to find a lot of great properties that are so close to Lake Michigan you won't believe the price."
The majority of listings featured in the "Explore Margate Park" event are attached properties with one- to four-bedroom layouts. Architectural styles vary from rehabbed vintage residences to mid-century high-rise condominiums. Dream Town has one home in the tour, represented by Pamela Plotkin.
