De Fusco wrote in 1988, in Il gioco del design (“The design game”): “The cultural factor in Driade is not merely a production tool, but the very reason for production.”
The world of Driade has developed over time from container systems to fi nished furniture, from from objects (1989) to complimentary furnishings (1995). Today it is divided into three brands: driade (The philosophy of habitation); driadestore (The light-weight house); and driadekosmo (The world of objects). These four worlds each have their own research identity and spirit, and together they make up the infi nite and possible Driade houses.

Such as in an intriguing and precious house of today, where the different furniture, fi ttings, paintings, curious objects, and novel combinations all speak to us about the people who live there; they tell us about their thoughts, their culture, their history and their way of life.
It is the opposite of the predictability of collectors’ houses, or houses entirely designed in a single style, where the same theme is repeated to infi nity. Today this seems scarcely with the times, because eclecticism, contradictoriness, cultural collage, curiosity and surprise represent the real sense of our age and current lifestyles. Just like Driade.

Driade registers the spirit of the times, which although very different from the years that saw its birth is nonetheless very rich in stimuli and young management, with the introduction of the second generation into the company, Elisa Astori, to launch Driade towards new scenarios.
The many stories of Driade, which are sometimes parallel and sometimes divergent, but more often intertwined, represent the story of a passion. Cultivated by a small family group now enlarged to the second generation, Driade has developed into an extended family of collaborators and friends spread around the world, sharing the idea that habitation can always become a pleasure rather than being mere necessity.
